Awareness

We raise awareness to encourage the creation of positive actions to implement locally. We believe doing things rather than just talking about the problems increases involvement and creates change in…

the status quo. We discuss the interconnections of the environment/climate chaos, financial crisis, and resource depletion, as well as the myriad of topics related to the Transition movement. We organize films with discussion; book study groups; or just general discussions about topics of interest. By tapping into our community’s collective genius, we can create a resilient and sustainable community.

Monthly Meetings and Speakers

We aim to have meetings on a variety of topics in those months in which we don’t have other events and activities happening. We see these as a time to potluck together, discuss new ideas for projects and learn something new about ourselves to reach our goals. When we have speakers we look for individuals or groups from within the community as well as cultural icons, leaders and experts in various fields.

RainWise

We often partner with like–minded organizations to work on an activity or long term project. One such collaboration is with Sustainable Ballard, Seattle Public Utilities and King County to bring presentations about the SPU Rainwise program to the northeast part of Seattle.
