Ravenna Community Garden

on

The Ravenna Community Garden was started in 2010 on the grounds of the Ravenna Eckstein Community Center, through a unique partnership between the Seattle Parks Department and a community of gardeners with a vision for growing food on a little used plot of land. All are welcome to participate in this garden adventure, with work parties generally happening on Sunday afternoons through the growing season. The garden is wheelchair accessible, and demonstrates a variety of ways to grow fruits and vegetables.

The garden group hosts community potlucks during summer months, and shares excess produce with area food banks. This garden is different than a P-Patch, in that we share the garden spaces. One of our members likes to call us her commie garden.
